Blown-in Insulation
Blown-in Insulation is a popular method of insulating homes, especially in attics and walls. It involves using specialized equipment to blow loose insulation materials into cavities, creating a dense layer of insulation. Here are some common types of blown-in insulation and their corresponding R-values:
-
Cellulose Insulation for attic isnulation
-
Fiberglass Insulation for attic insulation
By increasing the R-value with blown-in insulation in the attic, homeowners may qualify for an energy-efficient rebate of up to $4000 specifically designated for attic insulation improvements.
Batt Insulation
When you think about adding insulation to your home or your attic insulation, the image that usually comes to mind is long strips of fiberglass insulation in faced batts or unfaced rolls. Batts of faced fiberglass insulation is the standard material used to insulate walls and joist cavities during new construction, and improving the insulation in attics often involves laying a "blanket" of unfaced fiberglass rolls across the attic floor.
Spray Foam Insulation
Spray Polyurethane Foam ( SPF) insulation is widely recognized as the most versatile insulating product on the market today specially for attic insulation . A professional installation provides incredible air sealing qualities, far higher R-value per inch, and even structural strength throughout the installed area thanks to the rigid qualities of the foam. Drill & Fill Insulation
The drill and fill method involves creating small access holes in the walls to inject insulation material into the cavities. It's ideal for existing homes with finished walls where removing drywall is not desirable or practical. Our experienced team follows a systematic approach to ensure a successful insulation process.
Types of Drill and Fill Insulation: Wall Insulation, Exposed Floors (Porches, Garage Ceilings), Soundproofing (Basement Ceilings):
Air Sealing & Weatherization
Air sealing in the attic provides two key benefits: it helps prevent air leaks and drafts, creating a more comfortable living environment, and it improves energy efficiency by reducing heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer, resulting in lower utility bills. Insulation Removal & Cleaning
Upgrading existing attic insulation is a great idea, but first you may have to take care of previously-installed insulation.
There are many reasons to remove existing attic insulation, ranging from a decrease in effectiveness over time as the attic insulation has settled, to vermin infestation, to simply wanting to remove old insulation from attic. Luckily, our trained professionals are able to effectively remove existing insulation cleanly, without leaving a mess!
Rafter Vents / Baffle Installation
Baffles are chutes that, when installed properly in the attic, can provide a channel for air to flow from your exterior soffit vents up into your attic space. That airflow is intended to churn the stale air in your attic which helps to remove moisture and control the temperature of your attic.
